Law Firms Becoming More Diverse, NALP Reports

Women associates expanded their presence at law firms in 2014 for the first time in four years, according to data released last month by the National Association for Law Placement. The report also showed slight gains among women and minority partners last year. Women associates fell from 45.66% in 2009 to 44.79% in 2013, but rebounded slightly to 44.94% in 2014, NALP found. Similarly, minority women associates increased from 11.29% in 2013 to 11.51% in 2014. Overall, minority associates have seen small gains each year since 2010, but 2014 brought the single largest annual increase. full story
